iconZusammenfassungen

This paper reports results of a collaborative action research where an instructor partnered with a researcher to integrate technology in a foreign language course to improve vocabulary learning. Participants consisted of an instructor and 18 students enrolled in a course taught in the United Arab Emirates. Quantitative and qualitative data sources were used namely interviews, survey, documents, and fieldnotes to investigate the collaboration and the integration of technology in the course. The results presented in this paper is based on instructor interviews, fieldnotes and emails. A thematic analysis technique was adopted to analyze the data. Main results indicated that the technologies and strategies adopted by the instructor in collaboration with the researcher helped promote class discussions, and interactions among students as well as engage students in learning vocabulary more effectively. The study suggested that a collaborative action research approach, involving instructors and researchers, can be an effective strategy to support technology integration in the classroom, and help improve teaching practices
