This chapter focuses on the use of iPads within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). It includes a number of short examples of using iPads in a variety of ways – both as pedagogical and administrative tools. The use of tablets, and specifically iPads, in the EYFS is perhaps less developed than in other areas of primary schools. Part of the reason for this may stem from teachers’ philosophical stance on the place of technology within EYFS settings – this issue, alongside suggestions for the mitigation of concerns about early technology, are included within the discussion.
