Definitionen
"IKT-Kompetenz" meint die Fähigkeit, IKT-gestützte Medien (beispielsweise Internet oder Computerprogramme) eigenverantwortlich und kritisch zu nutzen.

- Use MS Paint to create a designated picture
- Move objects using folders, shortcuts, cut-and-paste, drag-and-drop, copy and delete methods.
- Move from one web page to another and back.
- Send and receive e-mail through a PC that is pre-configured to do so.
Kompetenz, mit IKT-gestützten Medien umzugehen, insbesondere Informationen zu suchen, zu sammeln und die Information(sflut) zu verwerten, kritisch zu beurteilen und zu gewichten sowie IKT-Infrastruktur einzusetzen, um eigene kreative Arbeiten zu begleiten und zu unterstützen (Nutzung von Tabellenkalkulationsprogrammen, Erstellen von Vortragsunterlagen, elektronische Publikationen). IKT-gestützte Mittel zur Weitergabe und zum Empfang von Informationen, z.B. Computer, Mobiltelefone, Internet usw.

Bemerkungen
The Panel identified six processes that they see as critical components of ICT literacy: accessing, managing, integrating, and evaluating information, constructing new knowledge, and communicating with others. This list reflects the Panels’ belief that ICT is not about specific technical skills, but rather it is about information gathering, knowledge construction and communication. As such, these processes reflect the integration of technical knowledge and skills with more traditional cognitive skills such as literacy and numeracy.
